Issuing a Proximity Card in Elite

Made by Steven Jaynes with Scribe

1. To assign a new card you will need:

  • Access to a terminal with ESP and a HID Onmikey card reader (we suggest that a card reader is sited on a back office PC for this task)
  • A unused proximity card.

Locate the member that you wish to assign a card to. Enter the record and go to the Card Details section.

Tip: Tip! Members must have a valid Renewal Date in the future to allow a card to be assigned. Check this on the Renewals Tab!

2. Click Maint Cards.

3. From the menu, select Issue a New Card.

4. Hold the new card over the HID Omnikey card reader. The card number will appear in the box. Press Accept when completed.

5. We suggest that the expiry date is extended further than one year to avoid having to renewal all member cards annual. To do this, click into the Expiry field and amend the date. This can be up to 19 years in advance.

Tip: Tip! Press the Equals (=) button on you keyboard followed by the ‘Y’ multiple times (up to 19!) key to extend the year on the card Expiry.

6. The status of the card can be amended if needed in the future by selecting the relevant option from the Status drop down list.

Tip: Tip! Keep records up to date to prevent multiple cards for a member and potential security issues.

7. Click Exit when complete. The card is now ready to use.

8. To Cancel a card, Click Maint Cards.

9. Click Cancel a Card from the menu.

10. Select the card you wish to cancel from the list.

11. Select Yes to cancel.
